Descriziption of intervention
The Caseificio Montecoppe (Montecoppe Dairy) is located in a historic building dating back to the 18th century and the property is inside the natural park of the Carrega woods in Collecchio, Italy. Torreggiani & C. provided consultancy and built the summer and winter air conditioning systems, as well as the steam production plant needed to cook the fine Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. The central heating plant consists of condensing boilers and an air-cooled water chiller. The main backbones — like the shelves — have been designed and tailor-made to the architecture of the building.
The air-conditioning system is a made-to-measure system that perfectly meets the needs of the different stages of processing — from milk collection to cheese maturing. The whole technological system is controlled by a digital management system, through which it is possible to read, correct and therefore govern all the thermo-hygrometric parameters in the premise.
