Description of intervention
For Parmareggio, a leading company in the production and marketing of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, Torreggiani & C. provided its consulting services for the design and construction of the mechanical systems in the Montecavolo plant. The implemented solution foresees the use of ice-cold water at -7°C (19.4°F) produced with screw units cooled by tower water, which allows precise heat treatment of both the cells at +3°C (37.4°F) and the production departments at +13°C (55.4°F) under any outdoor climatic conditions and internal load with extreme flexibility. Air diffusion is entrusted to easily removable and washable fabric ducts to maintain hygiene standards in the environments intended for food products. The central heating plant consists of two cascade boiler systems for the production of hot water both for heating and sanitary use. The steam for production processes is guaranteed by a vertical instantaneous boiler.
Torreggiani & C. also designed and built special compressed air and vacuum systems, as well as summer and winter air conditioning systems using primary air and fan coils for the office building.
