Description of intervention

The Ferrara Coop Doro store needed to undergo important works in order to restore the optimal air conditioning conditions in the processing departments.

Torreggiani & C. worked on several aspects, working mainly at night so as not to interfere with the usual supermarket activities. The performed works consisted of new 4-pipe heating and cooling system, new fan coils, replacement of pumping units, replacement of the rooftop Air Handling Unit, air exchange system with high-efficiency recovery system, direct expansion system for the oven area, smoke extraction system and hoods, heat recovery system for the cold chain. The fire prevention system and compressed air network were also redone.

A ducted ventilation system was installed for the drug cabinets in the pharmacy department. The water-sanitary system has been renewed with the complete reconstruction of the hydraulic network.

The whole intervention — carried out in the 40 days granted and completed last July — involved intense coordination of the teams which allowed Torreggiani & C. to carry out the work without ever closing the supermarket. The main activities were carried out at night, while during the day only works with reduced noise impact were carried out.
